Wendy is the author and illustrator of the hugely popular Stripey series of children’s books. Wendy has three children’s picture books published ‘Where’s Stripey?’, ‘Scrambled egg’ and her latest, 'Invisible Me'. In addition, a ‘Stripey Activity Book’ has been produced to accompany the first two story books.
‘Where’s Stripey?’ was self published by Wendy in 2005 and largely came about as Wendy wanted to write a story which incorporated the emus and other animal characters she was already painting and producing on her range of greeting cards. 'Where’s Stripey?’ went on to win the prestigious Western Australian Premier’s Book Awards, Childrens Category. When Wendy created her character Stripey she had no idea he was to become such a hit! His popularity has grown to such an extent he now has fans of all ages across the globe, and his own range of products including, T shirts, bags, a soft plush toy, canvas prints and original paintings! And in 2012 he will star in his own Australia wide theatre production!

Due to the great success of 'Where’s Stripey' and by popular demand, the adventures of Stripey continue. Children, parents and teachers eagerly awaited the arrival of Wendy’s second book ‘Scrambled egg' which she published in 2007. It was also shortlisted for the WA Premier’s Book Awards. The much awaited, ‘Invisible me’ has just been released and many believe it to be the best yet!

All three books are suitable for ages 2 to 12 as they have vivid colourful illustrations and engaging stories and text. Each book has a useful information section at the back which gives fascinating facts about emus and other animals featured in the books. Teachers and parents have found these pages together with the ‘Stripey Activity Book’ to be really useful in helping children to gain the most enjoyment and benefit from reading the books.
